The conference proceedings of the eLSA Symposium will be published in early 2026 under the title “Embedded Linux for Safety Applications - Open Source Software in Safe and Secure Systems” in both printed form and as an open access publication.

The discussion about the possibilities of open source in the industrial environment has never been more tense than it is today. Where established software systems reach the limits of technical feasibility, open source opens up considerable opportunities for an economically beneficial revolution in industrial products.

The conference proceedings address the current discussion in 15 technical articles. The main focus is on highlighting challenges and opportunities and jointly consolidating the ongoing path of open source as a future driver of industrial product development.
